Lombardini Marine is a division of the Lombardini group of companies (currently part of the KOHLER group) producing marine diesel engines.

The history of Lombardini is more than 80 years of successful diesel engine production, over a third of the European small diesel market.

In 1999, the company took over the Ruggerini factory, which also produced marine diesel engines.

It should be noted that for the most part the LOMBARDINI company produces small diesel engines for more prosaic purposes - for road-building, agricultural machinery, i.e. for those industries where one cannot boast of the frequency of technical inspections and qualified personnel - thus, these should be fairly unpretentious and reliable machines.

One of the advantages of these engines is not power units assembled from semi-finished products from various manufacturers, all engine parts, metalworking, assembly and testing are carried out at a factory in Italy.

As for the manufactured products, it can be roughly divided into 3 parts:

- FOCS and CHD series of small marine diesel engines with power from 13 to 84 hp, which are used as stationary engines with a classic layout - in this case Technodrive gearboxes are usually used, or with yacht gearboxes Sail-Drive of our own production;

- JMT series engines of medium power (180 and 240 hp), which can also be configured with a classic shaft-type gearbox, either with a MerCruiser BRAVO stern-drive column (various series), or with an adapter for a column of another manufacturer;

- marine diesel generators (capacity from 3.5 to 16 kW);

- marine engines LDW series.

Well, as for the special advantages of LOMBARDINI, they are mainly due to the rich experience of using engines on yachts and small boats, where the requirements for reliability, noiselessness and the absence of vibrations are especially high.

It should be noted that the company has long been the organizer of its own series of regattas, the Lombardini Cup, and, of course, has gained experience in participating in regattas around the world.

Thanks to this, for example, a special design of oil sump and fuel sedimentation tanks with baffles has been developed, which allows diesel engines and diesel generators to operate stably with a roll or differential up to 30°.

As for the medium-sized diesel engines of the JMT series, these are very modern and economical power units.
